The Swiss company, Tag Heuer, well-known craftsmanship in watches, has announced a new luxury smartphone namely the Tag Heuer Racer.New handset will go on sale in July 2012 in TAG Heuer boutiques, luxury mobile boutiques and selected watch and jewelry retailers and cost 2800€ (about $3,658.37).
New Tag Heuer Racer smartphone is inspired by GT cars and Formula 1 racing car. This luxury handset is made out of carbon fiber bridges, the screwed-in titanium, and other high quality materials. The Racer smartphone has a high strength and shockproof rubber chassis.

Unfortunately, the information about technical specifications of Racer is limited. Reportedly, the Tag Heuer Racer luxury smartphone is running ‘latest Android software’ and ‘intelligent operating system’ (likely Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich) paired with 3D user interface.

It is pre-loaded with several apps such as Google Search app, Gmail, Google maps, YouTube, and E-Blogger.

Design of TAG Heuer Gulf Meridiist is inspired the ‘Le Mans’ movie in 1971. The Steve McQueen’s character was played Michael Delaney as racer, driving a car with the Gulf Oil’s famous corporate racing colors orange and blue.

TAG Heuer Gulf Meridiist luxury phone has a black body finishes with PVD surface treatment that provides a scratch-less silhouette.
