Both phones work in quad networks GSM / GPRS / EDGE and dual-band HSPA (2100/900 MHz), support of the HD Voice technology (with audio codec AMR-WB) and tight integration with such services MySpace, Facebook and Twitter. Another interesting feature of the phones is the duplication of personal information on the company’s website that allows you to be sure of its safety in case of loss of staff.

It seems that recently problems do not leave the Sony Ericsson company.

After the suspension of the implementation of the smartphone Sony Ericsson Satio, the Swedish-Japanese company will probably need to give up the hope to take opportunity of Christmas shopping, and somehow fill the financial gap through the implementation of XPERIA X2 on Christmas Eve.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2

According to the website of the mobile operator Vodafone, smartphone XPERIA X2 will appear in the mobile market after the New Year in January, the month not quite favorable for sales. After the XPERIA X2 will be available in the market, the sales of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will start. Though, it looks like this will also happen later than the scheduled day. First quarter of the year is not the best time for sales. This may be another miscalculation of the management team of Sony Ericsson.

Several major retailers in Europe have suspended sales of the new touch smartphone in connection with a large number of returns due to malfunction in the software.

Sony_Ericsson_Satio

Touch smartphone Satio, so cordially welcomed by fans of the brand and fans of mobile devices, has been withdrawn from sale by the two major European retail chains selling electronics. According to the Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U companies, they actually stopped selling touchscreen smartphones Satio in connection with a large number of negative reviews and returns, based on the instability of software of the new device.

According to the official announcement of the company, the reason for failure lies in the software, which may be caused by separate applications running on the phone. This failure leads to immediate shutdown of the smartphone, and all temporal information that the user did not have time to save disappears. Representatives of Sony Ericsson have already responded to this incident, claiming that defects will be corrected by Christmas, and everyone who has already run into the problem, will be offered a new phone and a small compensation for the inconvenience.

Previously, there were rumours that Sony Ericsson’s X1 would get an update to Windows Mobile 6.5 after a supposed leaked ROM hit xda-developers. Well, sources close to the matter are apparently dashing those hopes, saying that no official update is actually in the works. Considering the X1 already has a customized user interface, you aren’t really missing out on the facelift, and Marketplace is coming to 6.1 anyway, so the only substantial feature X1 owners won’t be enjoying is My Phone. Big loss? Not really.

Boy, we sure do love our early glimpses of pre-release hardware, and today we have not one, but two sources of purported pictures of the Sony Ericsson Kurara. Touted as a sibling to the Satio, the Kurara is mooted to have a 3.5-inch AMOLED touch-sensitive screen, 8.1 megapixel camera and, wait for it, 720p video recording. The image above seems to confirm this with a big “HD” inscription next to the camera lens, but that label is missing in the gallery below. We’ll just put that inconsistency down to the extremely early samples on show, and start getting all frothed up in excitement over the possible UX inclusion on this Symbian S60 device when it starts selling in the first half of 2010.

In a nutshell, pretty impressive first Android phone from Sony Ericsson.

As for the mentioned UX platform, it is developed not for the X10, only, but for the whole series which will be launched in the first half of 2010. Included with UX are two signature apps Timescape and Mediascape, which allow users to manage their social networking activities (Timescape), and browse all the media, both on the phone and on the Internet (Mediascape).

And that’s almost it. Plus we have a video to share which Sony Ericsson kindly uploaded to YouTube. It follows after the jump. Enjoy!
