Announced two weeks ago in India, the ultra-cheap Nokia X2 has received FCC’s approval to be used in the US. The phone is a GSM/EDGE-only device, and since it has quad-band connectivity, it can be used on any non-CDMA carrier in North America (AT&T, T-Mobile, Rogers).

Needless to say, the FCC approval is by no means guaranteeing an X2 launch in North America.

Nokia has made the X2 mainly for emerging markets. The phone’s features include a 2.2 inch QVGA display, S40 UI, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, stereo FM radio, Opera Mini, MicroSD card support, and a 5MP fixed-focus camera with LED flash.

What can you expect from a handset that primarily looks like it is made of steel? Strong features as well, right? With the Nokia E71 qwerty phone you will get that and more. If you are interested, read out Nokia E71 review here.

The E71, as is all other phones belonging to the E-Series, is a business phone. Obviously, the Nokia E71 us well equipped to handle a professional’s business needs. From great connectivity to a reliable organiser to GPS navigation, this handset got it all. But we did not focus our Nokia E71 review only on the business aspects of the handset. We made sure to tackled the fun parts as well.

Let’s start with the looks, shall we? As we mentioned, the handset’s casing is mostly made of metal. This means it’s cool to touch and even cooler to hold and show off. The size and weight are perfect. Why won’t they be when this handset is one of the slimmest smartphones in the market today? An average-sized hand will have no problems holding this beauty.

The screen of the handset is a bit small for an E-Series phone but we actually don’t mind. At 2.36 inches and on a landscape mode, we have no problems with it. It has 16M colours and has a pretty decent resolution, so your viewing experience will not be impaired, despite the size. As for the keyboard, some people will find it a bit cramped. But taken into consideration the overall design, the QWERTY keyboard looks awesome.

The messaging aspect of this handset is wonderful as soon as you get used to the small-ish keyboard. With the Symbian OS and the S60 user interface, getting to your messages will be fast. Of course, the overall look will be easy on the eyes as well. This Symbian handset also allows you to switch between two mobile settings. You can easily customise each set up as well.

For emails, you will have no complaints about this handset, especially if you are a business user. You have all kinds of email platforms, including corporate standards. No matter what kind of account you have, this handset will make sure that you always keep in touch with your employees or clients. Setting up is a breeze, of course, as messaging is where this handset shines. A mobile phone deal for the nokia e71 will not let you down. This handset has a large RAM for a mobile and this sure adds to the wonderful browsing experience that you will have. Then there is Flash support for viewing videos.

Again, the organiser of this handset is incredible. Well, we expected nothing less from a business mobile. Aside from taking care of your schedule, the E71 also has Pocket Office and a PDF reader.

Let’s move to the fun parts of this handset. First off, it has a wonderful music player. Audio quality is superb and the layout of the player is easy to navigate. Great on the eyes, too. The camera is also a 3MP unit with LED Flash. In other words, nice photos even in the dark. In conclusion, we can honestly say that this business smartphone has got all the smarts AND the cool parts in one package.
