The Motorola Opus originally came out last December but now it looks like the same phone will be coming out by next month, possibly at the CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas. However, it will be called the i1 and will run on Android 1.5 and features a 3MP camera.

The second Android smartphone for mobile operator Verizon has officially been presented yesterday.

Motorola and mobile operator Verizon Wireless have officially introduced Android-smartphone Motorola Devour, previously known as Motorola Calgary.

Devour is equipped with a 3.1-inch capacitive touch display with HVGA resolution (320 x 480 pixels) and full QWERTY-keyboard. The list of characteristics of the smartphone includes a 3-megapixel camera with fixed focus, support for GPS-navigation (A-GPS), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, an accelerometer, a 3.5-mm audio connector and a slot for microSD memory cards of up to 32 GB ( 8 GB microSD-card is included). Battery capacity of 1400 mAh provides up to 4.5 hours of talk time.

The smartphone is running Android 1.6 with MotoBlur user interface, simplifying access to social networks. There is also preinstalled HTML-browser with support for Adobe Flash Lite and Document Reader.

The dimensions of Motorola Devour are 115,5×61x15,4 mm, while weight is 180 grams.

Motorola Devour will appear in retail shops in March, but the price of the device is not announced yet.

There is new information available on the Internet concerning the fact that the smartphone Nexus Two which runs on Google Android, will be released by American company Motorola.

First of all, the Google phone Nexus One is actually designed and manufactured by Taiwanese HTC company.

The smartphone of Motorola Shadow may appear on the sale as Nexus Two, including its technical characteristics which appear on 4.3-inch touch display with WVGA resolution, an 8-megapixel camera with video recording movies in HD-quality and HDMI-port.

At the first glance, Motorola Shadow looks similar to the smartphone of Droid, which has been released last autumn.

Motorola has officially announced three new smartphones Motorola XT701, MT710 and XT800. All three models are designed for the Chinese market, are running based on Android operating system and are equipped with 3.7-inch touch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

Motorola MT710 can work only in the Chinese wireless TD-SCDMA, therefore it is not likely that the mobile phone will be available in other countries as well. Nevertheless, Motorola XT701 and Motorola XT800 have prospects for European mobile market. Both smartphones are equipped with 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus. The XT701 is equipped with xenon flash, while XT800 has HDMI output for 720-pixel video.

Smartphones are running on ARM Cortex A8 processor and have all the sensors and ports that you can expect to see on a smartphone based on Android. It was reported only about the time when the phones will go on sale to the Chinese market. There is no information on the possible appearance of the smartphones in shops and salons of Europe at the moment.
