If you’re a fan of luxury phones and want a device that not many have (or can afford), Mobiado is a name that you should already be familiar with. Having announced a partnership earlier this year in March, Mobiado and Aston Martin have come together and produced the Grand 350 Aston Martin, the first luxury phone resulting from their partnership.

Now if you’re wondering why on earth it looks so familiar, it’s because Mobiado took the Nokia E71 as its base model, which means that the specs on the device aren’t exactly groundbreaking in today’s smartphone market. The difference is in the materials used to create the device, and as usual Mobiado does not disappoint.

The Grand 350 Aston Martin is made from CNC machined, aircraft grade, anodized aluminum, with its frame inlayed with sapphire crystal, which can also be found in its keypad along with the use of stainless steel. It will be available in three colors – black, black satin and silver, and while pricing or availability is unknown at this point, and chances are if you’re considering getting the Grand 350 Aston Martin, be prepared to fork out a pretty penny, and then some.

If you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to industrial design in mobile phones, prepare to be wowed by Mobiado’s latest concept phone, the Mobiado CPT001. This new phone concept, which the company also refers to as an “objet d’art”, blends modern-age communications technology with materials that were famously used during the renaissance period.

On the inside, it can be to contain what any other mobile phone might have. The stuff necessary for it to function as a mobile phone. But on the outside, it’s a different story.

Mobiado has put the sophistication and luxury that the CPT001 concept phone represents in words, saying:

Mobiado is consistently guided by a philosophy of doing things differently, and this principle has now given rise to the CPT001 concept phone. Staying on the cutting edge of design required the freedom to push the limits of what a luxury phone can be. The CPT001 is made from one piece of solid marble with gold filled engraved letters and details. The touch screen is made from a single large piece of sapphire. The buttons and watch crown are made from solid gold, with a magnificent gold skeleton mechanical watch movement placed between the Call and End buttons.

The company offers no clue as to when such a phone will come to the market.
