I really love and enjoy playing the Xbox 360, I myself happen to have an Xbox elite system (there isn’t much difference other then the hard-drive from the regular). Even though the Xbox 360 is an awesome console it does have 1 major drawback. The flashing 3 red lights, or as gamers like to call it the Xbox 360 red ring of death. Those flashing red lights can really give people headaches. How frustrating can it be playing a cool video game when suddenly the console stops working. So how to fix the Xbox red ring of death?
The first thing you need to know is that the ring of death is usually caused by over-heating. It is said that the heat-sink is much smaller then it should be. You see in order for your console to work properly it needs to stay cool as soon as it gets too hot it starts to cause problems. It is just like your computer or laptop. So I would suggest that you buy an add on fan, this will increase the air flow and should do a pretty good job of keeping your console cool.
Another thing you can do is to keep your room dust-free. If you never clean or vacuum your room then dust will certainly build up much quicker and cause your system to over-heat. You also want to leave plenty of space around your Xbox 360 console, open space is always better then closed space. Your Xbox 360 needs air just like we do, so make sure not to put it into tight spaces and rather an open space.
If you have already gotten the Xbox 360 red ring of death, then you have several options for fixing it. First, if your warranty is still in tact you can send your console to Microsoft and they will fix it for free. If your warranty expired already Microsoft should still fix it, but they will probably charge you a fee. The third option is to fix it yourself. There are wonderful repair guides you can buy on the internet that come with video instructions. Repairing the console yourself is probably the best way to fix red ring problems out of the 3 options. As long as you get hold of the proper repair guide it should be a quick fix.
