Palm has just announced their second device that uses WebOS and it is called the Palm Pixi. This is actually a much smaller, lighter and cheaper version of the Palm Pre, though it does not strip away touch screen display, QWERTY keyboard, and GPS navigation.
The screen is much smaller since it only measures 2.6 inches with 320 x 400 pixels resolution display and multi-touch screen, and it has 2-megapixel camera unlike on Pre with 3-megapixel. This will be running on Qualcomm MSM7627 CPU, and of course, there will also be access to Facebook and instant messaging, and it is completed with 8GB of internal memory. This also has a removable back cover, letting users customize the look of the Palm Pixi.
This will actually be an EVDO device, which will be targeted at Sprint’s network for the US “holidays,” so more likely before Christmas. No announcement on the exact release date and how much it will be sold.
